Out of images before the month ends? Buy a pack of 1,000 images for $8. It stays valid 12 months and is used only after your monthly quota. Nothing is charged automatically: without a pack the API answers HTTP 402 until the next month.
A yearly plan costs 10 monthly payments, and the image quota still renews every month of the paid year.

Urlbox also sells Lo-Fi at $19 for 2,000 renders, but only for sites you own (other sites as thumbnails), so it is left out of the arithmetic.
